Freedom Unveiled

Hey Everyone!

Just stopping by to encourage those of you who may still be struggling with feeling like you have to “prove” yourself to people or that you have to impress people. I want to start off this post by first posing a question, what is the end result of all that you are doing to impress those people or that person? Do you actually know if doing that will change how they truly view you or what they think about you? The answer is, you really don’t know. The reality is that people are going to think what they want regardless. It is not something that you can control, therefore it shouldn’t be any of your concern. When I struggled with this I know it was due to a lack of identity. I had NO IDEA who I was. I was just trying to be who I thought I should be or who others thought I should be. To be honest, after a while it became exhausting, time consuming, and disappointing. No matter what I did for a man, my friends, co-workers, or even family it just wasn’t good enough. Something had to give. 

Then one day I had just had ENOUGH! I needed to find a way out of this “people-pleasing” jail. I began to find my way out by turning my attention to God. I had taken the time to read the bible, go to bible studies, seek Godly counsel, whatever I needed to do to get my mind focused on the  right things. I knew that I had to address the issue of my mind in order to be released from feeling like my value was solely in the opinions and thoughts of others. One verse that truly helped me is Ephesians 2:8-10 TPT (read below)

“For it was only through this wonderful grace that we believed in him. Nothing we did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the gracious gift from God that brought us to Christ. So no one will ever able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving. We have become His poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny He has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it!”

God gave us the gift of communion and relationship with Him because He loves us just that much. Before you were born He planned your destiny and your destiny is just as important as the next person’s. We all have access to the beautiful gift of salvation, so NO ONE is esteemed higher than the other. God cares about YOU! You were made uniquely special in every single way! Why are you trying so hard to prove that to someone or trying so hard to be someone else? God has a plan and a purpose for you, seek after Him and pursue your purpose. Continue to love God and others while striving to be the best version of yourself day in and day out. What people think doesn’t matter because the creator of the entire universe think so highly of YOU. The main objective in life should be to understand more about what God thinks about you and how God sees you. Be encouraged today to release yourself from the bondage of pleasing others and understand the peace that follows with focusing on pleasing God. Let whoever, think whatever.

Just had to stop by to say God is soooo awesome. For the past couple of weeks God has had me on a journey to gain a deeper understanding of who He is and who He says I am. It has brought much revelation…one main revelation was that I had one subconscious thought that allowed me to stand in my own way. The thought was “I’m not good enough to do and be who you say I am”.

Let me tell you that once I realized the thought and began allowing God to navigate me to my healing it was emotional, tiring, annoying, and then in the end…it was FREEING. I have faced my past reality and now step boldly in the realm of infinite possibility in Christ. His love OVERWHELMED me, every message I heard spoke right to where I was at, and Sunday night I let the woman who didn’t think she was enough go to die and rose up the next morning the woman who knows that God called ME.

I say all of this to say, stop being your own worst enemy. Allow God to love you DEEPLY and then allow you to love YOU. Continue striving to be a better you day after day, but love yourself through the process. No one else in the history and future of this world can or will be YOU. No more comparison, no more fear. The world needs the YOU God has called you to be.

Don’t Call it a Comeback!

Well it’s been quite a long time since we’ve talked, almost 9 months to be exact, and I’ve missed you all. I promise that my absence was for good reason though. During that 9 month period, quite a few things happened. Allow me to list them for you…

1. Ordained a Minister over dance at Sound of  Heaven Church in Deer Park, NY
2. Planned a Wedding
3. Ran a Dance Ministry
4. Got a New Job
5. Planned a Wedding (lol)
6. Started Renovations for our living space
7. GOT MARRIED (Best Day Evvvveeerrrr) !!
8. Went on a Honeymoon
9. Adjusted Back to Normal Life

Needless to say, I was doing a lot these past few months, but I’M BACK. I can’t wait to share all that God has been revealing to me, the things I have overcome, and what I’m currently facing now. We are going to talk about love, finances, marriage, singleness, ministry, friendships,  family, health, and you can name anything else. I am here to help you all and invite you all to come along with me while I journey with God, and my amazing husband, to where He has destined me to go. Let’s get it ya’ll!

 

Oh, and enjoy a glimpse of what our wedding day was like. Mr. and Mrs. Hogu are quite a fun time, let me tell ya!

Good Morning Everybody!

I have to say that I am so excited to be engaged and on my way to being married. It’s such an exciting time and is really exhilarating. However, I took some time to reflect on what marriage actually is and what it means to be a wife. I was moved by this post because it clearly articulates what the decision to marry someone really means. Let us understand that marriage is not easy, but it’s worth it. Marriage is commitment, faithfulness, loyalty, consideration, selfless servitude, building, praying, respect, and love in it’s purest form. I am excited that my foundation in Christ has prepared me for the position of a wife. I sought God to find myself and through that process, He revealed to me, my husband. Take the time to seek God and He will lead you to the lifemate that will make marriage worth it. God’s timing is perfect and you can’t allow comparison to steal the joy of your individual process. Let’s redefine marriage and respect it for what it was intended to be. Live your life knowing that when you least expect it, your complimentary life mate will come alongside you. Wait for the perfect timing of God. A love like that, marriage the way God intended, is just too precious to rush. You deserve the best that God has for you, you really do.

Trust the process!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

I am here to just remind you that you don’t have to stay in your “funk”. The truth about life is that NO ONE is going to live it perfectly. NO ONE is going to do the right thing all the time. Today you need to remember that no matter how many times you fall, you can always, ALWAYS get back up. God’s restorative love allows us to be released from the shame of our mistakes and be able to move forward in the truth of His purpose for our lives. Don’t give up! Don’t give in! Your purpose is way too important and so many people need you. Your testimony of where you came from to where God is taking you will change the lives of many. Allowing others to see the hand of God working in your life will encourage them to let God do the same for them. Keep pressing forward and make a lasting impact for Christ everywhere you go!

Shine your light!

2019 is going to be an awesome year everyone! It’s the year where everything you wanted to see, do, and achieve is going to come to pass. The only catch is, YOU’VE GOTTA PUT THE WORK IN! No more lazy dreamers! This year you will be a dream achiever, a dream chaser. This year you are the person who has a vision, makes a plan, and then puts that plan into action. You will stop looking at other peoples’ lives and timelines. The comparison will alone steal your joy, peace, and gratefulness for how far you’ve come. Stay focused on the path that God has so lovingly laid out for YOU and only YOU. Everyone you are going to impact by becoming all God has called YOU to be is waiting for you to wake up and walk in your destiny. 2019 is the year you wake up! 2019 is the year you realize that anything you thought was impossible, is always possible through Christ!

Philippians 4:12-13 TPT says ” I know what it is to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.”

Good Morning Everyone!

I am here to remind you that just because it’s hard, that doesn’t always mean you are moving in the wrong direction. Sometimes the hard times come just to mature you and prepare you for the blessing on the way. Let us not forget the reality that anything worth having is worth fighting for. The fight itself is what makes the promise at the end worthwhile. So remember what you’re fighting for. Maybe it’s your health, maybe it’s financial freedom, maybe it’s a business venture, maybe it’s a career goal, or maybe it’s your God-given purpose. No matter what it is, the process is there for a reason. I am learning not to question the process so much but just to trust God during the process, knowing that all is working together for my good. So stay encouraged, keep progressing, and don’t quit!

So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are His lovers who have been called to fulfill His designed purpose. Romans 8:28 TPT

I just love this quote that I saw from @Mrselflove on Twitter:

“Stop hiding what is your greatest strength and gift. People are hungry and waiting for you to realize that you being “different” is the answer to their prayers.”

Stop hiding your gifts out of fear that you are not good enough. There are so many people out there that need you and have been praying for someone to do what you were created to do. It is by no accident that you are here on this earth and have something you are passionate about inside you. All that needs to be done is learning, nurturing, practicing, and executing with excellence! There is NOTHING you cannot do! Make a decision today to be different, not just for you, but for those that need you.
